Full Council Members are selected during the summer by the council’s co-chairs in consultation with WCAS for a term of one year (renewable). A Full Council Member’s term begins in the fall and ends at the end of summer of the following year. Full-time language instructors (regardless of rank) may become a Full Council Member if they fall into one of the categories outlined below. The council is composed of:
The director of the MMLC
The director of PAAL
The director of ESL
A faculty member involved with Study Abroad
Up to three members involved in the coordination of multi-section language classes (first, second, and third year) from the departments of French, Spanish, or German.
One member involved in language coordination in the following languages: Portuguese, Italian, Slavic, Classics, Arabic, Hindu, Chinese, Hebrew, Korean, Japanese ESL.
Full Council Members are not compensated for their work.
