In a continuing effort to support lecturers in their teaching mission, the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences has set up two funds, which the council oversees, the WCAS-CLI Professional Development Fund (PDF) which reimburses travel and expenses for conferences and workshops and The Teaching Enhancement Fund (TEF) which pays for projects which directly enhance the quality of language instruction. The council encourages lecturers to apply for funds available through the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences and the University. To apply for either of these, please follow the instructions on the Funding Instructions PDF. (Please read before completing a funding application.)
Deadlines to submit application to all CLI funds AY 2012-2013
Requests must be submitted to your chair prior to 5 PM on the following dates:
Fall requests: Wednesday, September 19, 2012
Winter requests: Monday, November 19, 2012
Spring requests: Friday, February 22, 2013
Summer requests: Friday, April 26, 2013
Faculty members may apply for support for any subsequent quarter. For example, it is now possible, and highly encouraged, to apply for funding of a Winter, Spring or Summer project in the Fall.
***Funding is for conferences, workshops and projects taking place from the first day of the quarter and running to the first day of the following quarter.
