Teaching Enhancement Fund

The Matching Fund

Projects funded in this category are small initiatives for the enhancement of teaching such as trips to ethnic restaurants, the purchase of special films or CDs, special instructional materials, etc. A language instructor may apply once a year. Grant requests may be up to $ 150, with equal amount in matching funds from the department or a similar source required. Matching Fund Application Form

Curriculum Enhancement Fund (formerly Special Projects Fund)

A language instructor may apply for funds to support special summer courses (in pedagogy, technology or language training) or the development of a special project (in technology or materials development) to enhance language teaching. Grant requests may be up to $750. No matching support is required. Applicants who receive a grant in this category are asked to write a brief report and give a short demonstration to the CLI about their project, if reasonable, considering the project.

Once you have filled out the application form for either of these funds, send it to the Treasurer of the CLI by the application deadline. The chair of the CLI Funds Request Committee will let you know within two weeks of the application deadline whether your request has been approved. Curriculum Enhancement Fund Application Form

Application Procedure

  1. The form is completed by the applicant. The applicant is responsible for receiving an approval from the department chair or the sponsor for your project.
  2. The applicant is responsible for sending the application to the Treasurer of the CLI by the application deadline. For the Matching Fund, the applicant is also required to provide a written approval of the matching fund granted.
  3. The CLI Funding Committee will award funds.
  4. The chair of the CLI Funding Committee will notify the applicant of funding provided by the CLI.
