In a continuing effort to support lecturers in their teaching mission, the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences has set up two funds, which the council oversees: The Professional Development Fund (PDF) which reimburses travel and conference expenses and The Teaching Enhancement Fund (TEF) which pays for projects or workshops which directly enhance the quality of language instruction. The council encourages instructors as well to apply to the many funds available through the University.

Deadlines to submit application to all CLI funds AY2008-2009
Fall requests: Monday, September 29, 2008
Winter requests: Monday after the Thanksgiving (December 1, 2008)
Spring requests: Monday, March 2, 2009
Summer requests: Monday, May 18, 2009

Professional Development Supported by the CLI 2005-06:
* Special project to convert VHS clips to DVD format for use in the classroom
* Presentations at ACTFL 2005 in Baltimore, at the Central States Conference in Chicago and at the TESOL convention in Tampa
* Travel /attendance for several faculty members to ACTFL 2005 in Baltimore and the AATI 2005 Conference in Washington, D.C.
