Teaching Enhancement Fund

The Matching Fund
Projects funded in this category are small initiatives for the enhancement of teaching such as trips to ethnic restaurants, the purchase of special films or CDs, special instructional materials, etc. A language instructor may apply once a year. Grant requests may be up to $ 150, with equal amount in matching funds from the department or a similar source required.

Once you have filled out the application form, send it to the chair of the Council on Language Instruction by the application deadline. The chair and the subcommittee will let you know within two weeks of submission whether your request has been approved.

Curriculum Enhancement Fund (formerly Special Projects Fund)
A language instructor may apply for funds to support special summer courses (in pedagogy, technology or language training) or the development of a special project (in technology or materials development) to enhance language teaching. Grant requests may be up to $750. No matching support is required. Applicants who receive a grant in this category are asked to write a brief report and give a short demonstration to the CLI about their project, if reasonable, considering the project.

Once you have filled out the application form for either of these forms, send it to the Treasurer of the CLI, John Paluch by the application deadline. The CLI Funds Request Committee will let you know within two weeks of the deadline for submission whether your request has been approved.
